Recipe Introduction
Their multi-million-dollar success story is widely known in Canada but not so south of the border where the addictive graham wafer, cashew and chocolate treat has yet to generate the same buzz.
Cousins Chris Emery and Larry Finnson of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada shot to fame 13 years ago after turning Emery's grandmother's recipe into the popular Clodhoppers candy.
List of Ingredients
4 cups 'Golden Grahams' cereal
1 cup salted cashews or your favorite nuts, *toasted
2 1/2 cups white or milk chocolate wafers
First toast nuts as directed, Then
Measure cereal and toasted nuts into a large
mixing bowl. Melt white or milk chocolate wafers over
a bowl of hot water, or gently over a double-
boiler. Keep stirring until chocolate has
melted. Add to cereal and nuts; stir until
cereal is well covered. Using teaspoons, drop
onto wax paper and leave until hardened.
Remove hardened candy from the wax paper
and store in an airtight container.
How to toast/roast any kind of nuts
*Preheat oven to 300 degrees and put nuts on
a cookie sheet, place in the oven and turn
frequently to avoid scorching. ( about 5 - 7
minutes ). Do not over-toast, as nuts tend to
darken and become crisper as they cool.
