    1 onion, minced
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1 green pepper, minced
    2 Tbsp fat or salad oil
    1 lb ground beef
    ¼ lb ground pork
    1 can (1lb, 12 oz.) tomatoes
    ½ cup ripe olives, chopped
    Salt, pepper, cayenne
    ½ cup cheddar cheese, grated
    2 Tbsp yellow corn meal
    1 tsp chili powder
    3 cups boiling water
    1 tsp salt

    Sauté the onion, garlic and green pepper in fat until they are lightly brown; add beef and pork; brown lightly. Add tomatoes, olives, salt, pepper and cayenne. Cook slowly 1 hour. Add Cheese, 2 Tbsp corn meal and the chili powder. Cook until cheese melts, stirring occasionally. Mixture should be the consistency of baked hash.

    Gradually add 1 cup corn meal to water, stirring constantly; cook until thickened. Add the tsp salt. Pour corn meal mixture into greased 2 qt. casserole. Add meat mixture.

    Bake in preheated oven at 375º for 20 minutes.
