Recipe Introduction
A fun, vintage recipe, which strikes me as "oh-so-1950's".

List of Ingredients
½ cup chopped green pepper
¼ cup chopped onion
¼ cup butter or margarine
4 cups soft bread crumbs
2 1-pound cans (4 cups) cream-style corn
2 beaten eggs
1 teaspoon salt
------------ ------
½ cup dry bread crumbs
2 tablespoons melted butter or margarine
1 ½ pounds frankfurters, cut in half WIDTH-wise
Cook green pepper and onion in ¼ cup butter till onion is golden but
not brown. Add soft bread crumbs, corn, eggs, and salt; mix
lightly. Combine dry bread crumbs, 2 tablespoons melted butter; set
aside. Place corn mixture in 8x1 ½ -inch round baking dish, mounding
in center; sprinkle with buttered crumbs (leaving a round section of
corn in center uncovered). Bake uncovered in moderate oven (350
degrees) 25 minutes; stand frankfurters (cut width-wise), cut-side
down in a crown around edge of stuffing, and continue baking 15
minutes longer.
Makes 6-8 servings.
