I always loved cookies with jam or preserves and mom made these even though this type of cookie was not her favorite!

List of Ingredients
2 cups flour
3 tsps. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 cup butter or margarine
2/3 to 3/4 cup milk
Preserves or jam (any fruit)Recipe
Sift flour with baking powder and salt -- cut in butter/margarine until mixture resembles crumbs. Add milk to soften dough and mix until dough follows fork around the bowl.
Knead on floured board 1 to 2 minutes.
Roll 1/4 inch thick. Cut into 3 inch circles with biscuit cutter.
Put spoonful of preserves in center.
Fold over and bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes
