    Sugar Cookies

    Source of Recipe

    Maybe tupperware

    Recipe Introduction

When the children were little, a good friend of mine, Terry Fox and I, would make a batch each of our own sugar cookie recipe. We would get together and the kids (mine and hers -- Alyson and Michael), would decorate the cookies with sprinkles, egg stain, etc. Michael and Sarah would get bored after two trays, and Jonathan, Katie and Alyson would stay with us for the duration. We would order pizza when the dads came home and at the end of the night, split all the cookies we had made.

    List of Ingredients

1/2 cup shortening (butter or margarine
    1 cup sugar

    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 well beaten eggs
    2 tsp. milk

    2 1/2 cups flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt

    Recipe

Blend together until light and fluffy the shortening and sugar.

Add and beat well vanilla, eggs, and milk.

Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt.

Add the dry ingredients to first mixture. Shape into mound, wrap in waxed paper and chill thoroughly.

Roll on board (lightly floured with powdered sugar) until dough is about 1/4 inch thick.

Dip cutter in powdered sugar each time before cutting the cookie.

Place on lightly greased baking sheet. Decorate (if desired) with sprinkles, colored sugar, egg stain,or frost after the cookies have cooled.

Bake in 375 degree oven for about 8 minutes.
