    Red Cabbage Saute

    List of Ingredients


    • 2 lb. red cabbage, shredded to make 6 cups
    • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
    • 1/2 cup sliced ,Bermuda onion
    • 1/2 cup red wine vinegar
    • 1/4 cup light brown sugar
    • 1 heaping tsp. Caraway seeds
    • 1/2 tsp salt


    Instructions


    1. In large skillet melt butter. Add shredded cabbage and onions and saute until onions are soft. about 10 - 12 minutes

    2. Then add vinegar firmly packed brown sugar and spices.Bring to a boil, reduce heat to simmer

    3. Cover shillet let simmer about 20 - 25 minutes until cabbage is tender.

    4. Can be made one hour ahead then reheated when time to serve.
