Yeast Rolls
1/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 c. Crisco
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. cold water
1 pkg. dry yeast
2 Tbsp lukewarm water
1 egg
4 to 6 c. flour
Directions:
Bring to boil sugar, salt, Crisco and milk. Remove at once. Add 1/2 cup water; let cool. Pour into a large bowl. Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water and add to mixture. Beat egg and add to mixture. Sift in flour, beating until mixture becomes stiff. Knead well on a floured board to form a soft dough. Place back in the bowl and let rise for 2 hours. Knead and roll out dough to about 1/2 inch thickness on floured board. Cut with a biscuit cutter, stretch, dip in melted butter and fold over. Pace in pan and let rise 1 1/2 to 2 hours. bake at 450 degrees for about 15 minutes.
