Pepper Steak

List of Ingredients
1 1/2 lb. round steak
1/4 cup salad oil
1 cup water
1 medium onion cut into 1/4" slices
1/2 tsp garlic salt
1/4 tsp ginger
2 medium green peppers cut into 3/4" strips
1 Tbls cornstarch
2 to 3 tsp sugar
2 Tbls soy sauce
2 medium tomatoes
Hot cooked rice
Cut meat into strips 2x1/4" Cook meat in oil until brown (about 5 minutes)
Stir in water, onions, garlic salt, and ginger. Heat to boiling; reduce heat, cover and simmer 12 to 15 minutes. Add green pepper strips during last 5 minutes. Blend cornstarch, sugar, and soy sauce. Stir into meat mixture, stir until thickened. Cut tomatoes into 8ths and cover and cook for 3 minutes. Serve over rice.
