    Potato Casserole

    Source of Recipe

    Linda Berg

    List of Ingredients

    • 2 pound bag of hash browns and or tator tots (more if larger family)
    • 1/4 cup melted butter
    • 1 Can cream of chicken soup
    • chopped onion or onion powder
    • 2 Cups mild cheddar cheese grated, and or more if you like.
    • 1 pt. sour cream
    • Salt optional

    Instructions

    1. WHAT WE DID: Preheated oven to 350 degrees.

    2. Spray bottom of casserole dish with a non stick cooking spray.

    3. We then poured out the bag of tator tots on the dish and added a can of peas on top (you can use frozen peas too.)

    4. Then in the meantime we mixed the onion powder, soup, sour cream (we buy the 16 ounce container and used half--cheaper buying the bigger container and we use it alot.) together.

    5. Then we added about a cup of milk to the soup/sour cream mixture to make it creamy like a sauce. Then we poured that over the tator tots and peas.(can use a different vegetable too if you like.)

    6. Then we topped it with the grated cheese (we used 16 ounces or maybe a little less on top--grated ourselves--much cheaper than buying already grated.)

    7. Then cover and bake in the oven at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes.

    Final Comments

This dish is very filling and very yummy and tasty! between these two
casserole dishes you won't be hungry for a little while and you will
have a little left for lunch for tomorrow...great inexpensive dish.
Cost to make this potato dish about 6.00 (approx.) for a family of
six with a little leftover for lunch. :-)

You can substitute regular sliced potatoes for tator tots or hash
browns (whatever is best for your budget or least expensive at the
    time.)
