    � cup shortening or oleo
    1 cup sugar
    1 large egg or 2 small
    1 teaspoon salt
    1 teaspoon cinnamon (I like more)
    1 teaspoon baking soda in 2 tablespoons hot water
    1 cup flour
    � cup chopped walnuts
    1 teaspoon vanilla

    Recipe



    Mix ingredients together well, and then mix in 2 � cups diced apples.
    Pour into a greased 9 inch round pan.
    Bake 45 minutes at 350 degrees.
