    1 1/2 cup flour
    1 teaspoon baking powder
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
    1/2 cup sugar
    2 large eggs
    2 tablespoons finely minced lemon zest (about 2 lemons)
    1/2 cup milk
    1/2 cup pecans, coarsely chopped
    Glaze
    1/2 cup lemon juice
    1/2 sugar

    Preheat oven 350º
    Butter and flour a 9 X 4 inch loaf pan.

    In large mixing bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, and salt.
    Set aside.

    In bowl with an electric mixer, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
    Add eggs and lemon zest and mix until combined
    Add dry ingredients alternating with milk.
    Add pecans and mix till just combined.
    Do not over mix.

    Pour into prepared pan and bake in center of oven 50 - 60 minutes until golden brown and toothpick comes out clean.

    Glaze
    Prepare lemon glaze while bread is baking by whisking lemon juice and sugar together in small bowl.
    When the bread comes out of the oven, poke holes all over the top with a fork, and pour the glaze over the top.

    Cool bread for about 1/2 hour before slicing.
