Orange Chai Tea
ORANGE CHAI TEA
Now here is a recipe for a delightful beverage that is good hot or
cold. It will become a holiday favorite of yours I hope. (This sounds
really good to me!)
Orange Chai
1 quart water
1 quart milk
1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons grated orange peel
8 single servings orange pekoe tea bags
2 tablespoons vanilla
In a 3-4 quart saucepan over medium high heat, stir the water, milk,
brown sugar and orange peel until boiling. Add the tea bags and
vanilla, reduce heat, stir gently and simmer 1-2 minutes. Cover,
remove from heat and let stand 10 minutes. Pour liquid through a fine
strainer into a pitcher (at least 2 quarts) You might want to let this
mixture cool a bit, it might crack brittle plastic. Serve hot or
cold, over ice if you wish.
