    Orange Basil Cookies

    Orange Basil Cookies

    1/4 cup butter or margarine
    1 (8oz. pkg.) cream cheese, softened
    1 egg yolk
    1 T. orange juice
    1 t. grated orange rind
    2 t. orange extract
    1 c. currants, raisins or dried cranberries*
    1 T. dried basil or 2 t. fresh
    1 package yellow cake mix, use dry

    Cream together the butter, cream cheese, egg yolk, orange juice,
    rind and extract.
    Add currants or raisins, or dried cranberries, etc.,
    basil and cake mix to creamed mixture, one-third at a time.
    Drop by tsp. full onto greased cookie sheets.
    Bake at 350 deg. for 15 to 18 minutes.

    NOTE: I used Dried Cranberries called Craisins, from Sams Club.
