Amish Pie Crust
4 c. flour
1 T. sugar
Salt opt.
1.75 c. shortening, solid
1/2 c. ice water
1 egg,
1 T. vinegar
In a bowl mix together the first 4 ingredients. Set aside.
In another bowl, mix together the last 3 ingredients and
add to flour mixture.
Divide into 4 balls and wrap in wax paper.
Refrigerate for 1 hour.Roll out.
Brush milk over crust when in pan.
NOTE: This recipe was from my friend Katie Sayers,
who died of Cancer in 1998.
she lived in Southington Ohio, on Rt. 534.
She was also a great quilting teacher.
She could quilt by hand, or on her quilting machine,
which was set up in her basement.
