Recipe Introduction
Mr. Food's Note - Do you want to make this even more authentic-tasting? Add about a pound of peeled, cooked shrimp 5 minutes before serving.
My Note - This is a family favorite. It's quick & easy to prepare. On a cold day I can have a hot pot of soup ready in about an hour!

1 green pepper, chopped
2 stalks celery, chopped
½ pound smoked sausage, cut lengthwise in half,
then crosswise into 1/2-inch slices

1 package (10 ounces) frozen cut okra, thawed and drained
1/8 teaspoon teaspoons dried thyme
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ cup uncooked long- or whole-grain rice or brown rice
½ teaspoon tobascco
½ teaspoon Worchestershire sauce
