Recipe Introduction
"This body oil is great for any skin type. It contains a light sensual aromatherapy blend, complete with an infusion of vanilla oil made with real vanilla beans!"
List of Ingredients
3 ounces sweet almond oil
1 ounce jojoba oil
5 vanilla bean pods
1 drop sandalwood essential oil
2 drops sweet orange essential oil
1 drop rose essential oil
1 drop frankincense essential oil
3 drops grapefruit essential oil
1 drop patchouli essential oil Recipe
Wash the pods and pat dry. Allow to dry overnight. Using a knife, carefully plit the vanilla bean pods. Use the flat side of the knife to mash the vanilla beans.
Place the beans and pods into the jojoba and sweet almond oils and allow to soak in an airtight container for several weeks. I prefer a minimum of 4 weeks. Shake the oil and vanilla every few days to ensure the mix.
Using a cheese cloth, strain the vanilla pods and beans from the oil. You may wish to do this several times so the oil left behind is a clear as possible. It will be a bit thicker and a tad bit deeper in color after the soaking process. Discard the vanilla beans and pods. In the alternative, wipe excess oil from them and place them in coffee beans to flavor them.
Add the essential oils to the vanilla infused oil and shake gently to combine. Place Orchid Flower Body Oil into a convenient flip-top bottle and massage over clean, damp skin to soothe and moisturize. It will leave your skin feeling beautifully scented! You can run a bit through your hair as well. Enjoy!
