Biscuits: Old-Fashioned Drop Biscuits
Source of Recipe
"Mrs. Curtis’s Cook Book: A Manual of Instruction in the Art of Everyday Cookery" by Isabel Gordon Curtis (The Success Company, New York, 1909)
List of Ingredients
3 cupfuls flour
2 tablespoonfuls butter
3 teaspoonfuls Calumet baking powder
1/2 teaspoonful salt
1 1/2 cupfuls milk
Recipe
Sift the baking powder, salt and flour together; rub in the butter with the tips of the fingers, then add the milk, and beat to a soft dough.
Grease a baking pan, lift a level tablespoonful of the dough and drop it into the pan, having each biscuit an inch apart, and bake in a hot oven.
This is an excellent recipe to use when one is in a hurry and there is not time to make a biscuit which has to be rolled out and cut.
