Biscuits: Texas Cornmeal Biscuits

1 1/2 cup cornmeal
2 1/ cups flour
6 tbs baking powder
2 tsp salt
1/2 cup butter or lard
1 1/3 cup milk
Recipe
Combine meal, flour, baking powder and salt. Sift together. Using 2 knives or pastry blender cut in the butter until mixture is pebbly.
Add milk and stir just until ingredients are moist. Turn out on lightly floured board and knead gently a few seconds. Roll or pat out to 1/2 inch thick.
Cut with a 2 inch cutter and place on a greased pan.
Bake @ 475 for 10 min.
