Cheese: Cheddar Spoon Bread

2 c. milk, divided
1/2 c. cornmeal
1 c. shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/3 c. butter
1 T. sugar
1 t. salt
2 eggs, beaten
Recipe
Scald 1 1/2 c. milk. Mix cornmeal with remaining 1/2 c. cold milk and add to hot milk. Cook, stirring constantly, over low heat until thickened, approximately 5 min. Add cheese, butter, sugar and salt; stir until melted. Remove from heat; stir in eggs. Pour into 1 qt. greased baking dish; bake at 350 for about 35 min. or til lightly browned and set.
