Rolls: Apple Rolls

1 1/2 cups Sugar
2 cups Flour
1 pinch Salt
2 tablespoons Shortening
1/2 cup Milk
2 teaspoons Baking powder
2 tablespoons Sugar
Apples -- chopped
Additional sugar
Butter
Cinnamon
Recipe
Mix together flour,salt,shortening, milk, baking powder and 2 tbls sugar.
Roll dough an inch thick, spread with chopped apples. Roll up and cut into 1 1/2-inch slices. Combine sugar and 2 cups water in a pan and heat to boiling.
Place rolls in baking pan of hot syrup. Sprinkle with sugar, cinnamon and butter and bake in moderate oven until brown.
