Coffeecake: Buttermilk

List of Ingredients
3 Cups Flour
2 Cups Sugar
1 1/2 Tsp. Cinnamon
1/4 Tsp. Ground Cloves
1/4 Tsp. Salt
2 1/2 Tsp. Baking Soda
1 Cup Butter
2 Cups Buttermilk
1 Cup Raisins or Chopped Nuts (Optional)
Recipe
In a large bowl combine flour, sugar, cinnamon, cloves, salt and baking soda. Cut in butter until mixture is crumbly (may be done on electric mixer). Save 1 cup for topping. Stir in buttermilk gradually, mixing until well combined. Add raisins or nuts, if desired. Pour into greased 9" x 13" baking pan and sprinkle reserved topping over batter. Bake in 325 deg. oven 50 60 minutes or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean.
Freezes well.
YIELD: 12-15 Servings
