    List of Ingredients




    9 slices white bread (remove crust)
    12 eggs, well beaten
    4 tablespoons butter (not margarine) cut into small cubes
    3 cups half and half
    6 scallions, chopped including green tops
    1/4 cup chopped bell pepper
    2 cups grated cheddar cheese (8 ounces)
    1 tablespoon salt
    1/4 tablespoon freshly ground pepper
    2 pounds of pork bulk sausage, browned, drained and crumbled

    Recipe



    Put slices of bread on the bottom of the 13- by 9-inch baking dish.

    Grease bottom lightly with butter. After beating the eggs in a large bowl, add the rest of the ingredients, including the cooked sausage.

    Stir for a minute or two, then pour into the baking dish.

    Bake uncovered at 300 degrees for 11/2 hours or until done.

    YIELD: 12 Servings
