French Toast: To Die For French Toast

Ingredients:
1 cup sugar
5 eggs
1/2 cup butter
1-1/2 cup milk
2 Tablespoons corn syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 tart apples, peeled & sliced
1 loaf French bread

Spicy Apple Syrup:
1 cup apple sauce
One 10-ounce jar apple jelly
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
dash salt

Recipe



Cook sugar, butter and syrup until syrupy; pour into a 9 x 13-inch baking dish. Spread apple slices over this.

Slice bread into 3/4 inch slices and place on top of apple slices. Whisk together remaining ingredients and pour over bread.

Cover and refrigerate overnight. Bake uncovered for 40 minutes in a 350-degree oven. Serve with spicy apple syrup.

Spicy Apple Syrup: Combine all ingredients in small saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring consistently, until jelly melts and syrup is hot.
