    Bars: Ann's Chocolate Caramel Bars

    List of Ingredients


    • 2 1/4 cups flour, divided
    • 2 cups quick cooking oats
    • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar, firmly packed
    • 1 tsp. baking soda
    • 1/2 tsp. salt
    • 1 1/2 cups cold unsalted butter
    • 2 cups (12 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate chips
    • 1 cup pecans, chopped
    • 1 jar (12 oz.) caramel ice cream topping


    Instructions


    1. Preheat oven to 350 degress. Grease 13" x 9" x 2" baking pan.

    2. In a bowl, combine 2 cups flour, oats, brown sugar, baking soda and salt. Cut in butter until crumbly. Set half of the mixture aside for the topping.

    3. Press remaining crumb mixture into greased pan.

    4. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.

    5. Sprinkle with chocolate chips and pecans.

    6. Whisk caramel topping and remaining flour (1/4 cup) until smooth; drizzle over the top. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on wire rack for at least 2 hours before cutting.

    YIELD: About 4 1/2 dozen.
