    Bars: Rhubarb Bars

    List of Ingredients




    1 1/2 cups flour
    1 1/2 sticks margarine
    1/2 cup powdered sugar
    3 eggs, beaten
    1 3/4 cups sugar
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1 teaspoon baking powder
    1/3 cup flour
    3 cups rhubarb cut into 1/2-inch pieces
    1/2 cup nuts

    Recipe



    Mix flour, margarine and 1/2 cup powdered sugar as for pie crust. Pat into 13-by-9-inch pan. Bake at minutes at 350 degrees. Mix together remaining ingredients and pour over crust after it is baked. Return to oven and bake 35 minutes more at 350 degrees.

    NOTE: When fresh peaches are in season, substitute 3 cups peaches for rhubarb and cut sugar to 1 1/4 cups.
