Brownies: Cream Cheese Amaretto Brownies

For the brownie layer:
1 19-ounce package chewy fudge brownie mix
2 eggs
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup Amaretto or other almond-flavored liqueur
For the cream cheese layer:
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
3 tablespoons butter, softened
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 tablespoons flour
1 tablespoon Amaretto or other almond-flavored liqueur
For the icing:
6 1.45-ounce milk chocolate bars with almonds, unwrapped
Recipe
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9-by-13-inch glass baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside.
Combine the brownie mix with the eggs, oil and Amaretto and mix until well blended. Spread in the prepared baking dish. Place the cream cheese, softened butter, sugar, eggs, flour and Amaretto in a large bowl and beat by hand or with an electric mixer until smooth. Pour over the brownie layer and bake for 30 to 35 minutes. Remove brownies from the oven and top with the chocolate bars. When the chocolate bars have melted, spread evenly over the brownies. Set aside to cool, and store in the refrigerator.
Makes 12 to 16 servings.
