    Bars: Caramel Nut Bars

    The Legacy Inn Bed & Breakfast, Manti, Utah

    List of Ingredients

    1 c quick oats
    1 c flour
    1/2 t soda
    1 c packed brown sugar
    3/4 c butter, melted
    1/4 t salt
    1 pkg (14 oz) caramels (25-30)
    1 c chocolate chips
    1/3 c milk
    1/2 c chopped nuts


    Recipe

    Combine first six ingredients; sprinkle 1 1/4 c into a greased 13"x9" pan (do not press). Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Melt on low heat the caramels and milk. Pour over baked crust. Top with chocolate chips and nuts. Sprinkle with remaining oat mixture. Bake 10 minutes more. Score into bars, cool on wire rack. Refrigerate to set the caramel.
    YIELD: 3 Dozen
