    Squares: Pecan Pie Squares

    List of Ingredients

    2 cups flour
    1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons sugar or 1/2 cup
    3/4 cup butter, softened
    3/4 teaspoon salt

    For the filling:
    4 eggs
    1 1/2 cups sugar
    1 1/2 cups light or dark corn syrup
    3 tablespoons melted butter
    1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
    2 1/2 cups chopped pecans

    Recipe


    Beat dough ingredients on medium speed until crumbly. Mixture will be dry. Press firmly in greased 10-by-15-inch jelly roll pan. Bake about 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Mix all filling ingredients together, except pecans, until well blended. Add pecans. Pour filling over baked layer. Bake until filling is set, about 25 minutes. Cool and cut into 1 1/2-inch squares.
