Brownies: Prize Winning Applesauce Brownies

1 cup applesauce, natural sweet
2 cup granulated sugar
4 eggs
2 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup flour
2/3 cup cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cup crushed pecans
1 cup chocolate chips
Recipe
In a large bowl, combine the applesauce and the sugar and blend well. Beat in the eggs one at a time. Add the vanilla and beat well. Add the flour and the cocoa powder and beat well.Add the baking powder and the salt and beat. Stir in the nuts and the chocolate chips. Pour batter into a greased 13x9" baking pan and Bake at 350 F for 30-35 minutes. Cool completely before cutting.
