Squares: Caramel Almond Treats

8 cups Rice Krispies® cereal
1 cup slivered almonds, toasted
1 box (7 oz) Odense Almond Paste
1/4 cup water
1 pkg (14 oz) caramels
Recipe
1 Mix cereal and almonds in a large bowl. Lightly grease baking dish. Unwrap the caramels.
2 Grate almond paste on large hole side of box grater.
3 Add almond paste, 1/4 cup water and caramels to a heavy bottomed saucepan. Cook over a low to medium heat. Stir frequently until mixture is melted and smooth.
4 Immediately pour caramel/almond mixture over cereal. Mix well.
5 Spoon into 9" x 13" baking dish, pressing top evenly to sides with buttered wax paper or a greased spatula.
6 Chill 10 minutes and cut into squares.
