    Lemon: Betty Reese's Lemon Cake

    List of Ingredients

    Cake:
    3 cups of white sugar
    1 cup Crisco
    1 cup sour cream
    6 eggs
    3 cups of plain White Lily flour
    1 teaspoon baking powder
    1 teaspoon salt
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    Combine all the ingredients. Beat for four minutes. Pour into three well greased pans and bake at 350 for 20 minutes or until done.

    Filling for Cake:
    3 lemons (grate peelings of 2 of them, then squeeze all three for juice)
    3 cups sugar
    1/3 cup White Lily flour
    4 eggs
    2 teaspoons butter (not margarine)
    Stir all ingredients in a pot or double boiler until mixture thickens. Spread between layers, top and sides of cake.
