    Chocolate: Beloved Fudge Cake

    Source of Recipe

    BH&G

    Recipe Introduction

"About 10 years ago, FOODday published a recipe for a cake made with a devil's food cake mix and instant pudding, grated orange peel, sour cream, coffee liqueur and chocolate chips. It was baked in a Bundt pan. It was so delicious it did not need frosting. It was loved by everyone I ever served it to."

    List of Ingredients

    ---Coffee-Orange Fudge Cake----

1 package 2-layer devil's food or German chocolate cake mix (without pudding in the mix)
    1 8-ounce carton sour cream
    1/2 cup vegetable oil
    1/2 cup water
    4 eggs
1 4-serving-size instant chocolate fudge pudding mix
1/4 cup coffee liqueur such as Kahlua
2 tablespoons finely shredded orange zest
    1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 12-ounce package semisweet chocolate chips
    Powdered sugar

    Recipe

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a 10-inch Bundt pan.

In a large mixer bowl, combine cake mix, sour cream, oil, water, eggs, pudding mix, liqueur, orange zest and cinnamon. Beat with an electric mixer on low speed until blended, scraping sides of bowl constantly. Beat on medium speed for 4 minutes. Stir in chocolate chips.

Pour into prepared pan. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.

Cool on wire rack for 10 minutes. Remove from pan and cool on rack. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
