Pound: Chocolate-Chocolate Chip Pound Cake

1 cup (two sticks) butter, softened
2 3/4 cups sugar
5 eggs
3 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1 cup whole milk
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips or finely chopped dark chocolate
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
Recipe
Grease and flour a loaf pan. Preheat oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.
Cream butter and sugar.
Add eggs, one at a time, mix.
Add one half of the flour, the baking powder, salt, and cocoa powder, mix slowly.
Add one half of the milk, mix.
Add the rest of the flour, mix.
Add the rest of the milk, add the vanilla and almond extract, mix.
Add the chocolate chips or chopped chocolate. Stir to incorporate.
Pour into prepared loaf pan.
Bake at 325 degrees Fahrenheit for 1 3/4 hours. Test with toothpick.
Optional: Cool, turn out onto plate, and serve slices with tea or vanilla ice cream and fresh raspberries. You'll impress your friends and/or delight your family.
