    Spice: Spiced Peach Cake

    List of Ingredients

    Nonstick cooking spray

    1 can (29 oz.) DEL MONTE Sliced Peaches in Heavy Syrup

    1 Tbsp. cornstarch

    1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon

    1/8 tsp. ground cloves

    1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg

    1/8 tsp. ground ginger

    1 pkg. 2-layer spice cake mix


    Recipe



    Preheat oven to 350 F. Coat 3-quart rectangular baking dish with nonstick cooking spray; set aside.

    Drain peaches, reserving syrup. In medium saucepan combine reserved syrup, cornstarch, and spices. Cook, stirring constantly, until thickened and bubbly. Add peaches; bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Cook 1 minute more. Remove from heat; set aside.

    Prepare cake mix according to package directions. Spread peach mixture evenly oven bottom of prepared baking dish. Pour cake mix evenly over peaches. Bake 40 minutes or until toothpick inserted near center comes out clean. Cool slightly; serve warm.

    SERVES 12
