    Vanilla Wafer Cake

    Adapted from the Centenary Cookbook - Winston-Salem, NC 1968

    List of Ingredients




    2 sticks butter, softened
    2 cups sugar
    2 cups chopped walnuts
    5 eggs
    1 can coconut flakes, (3 1/2-oz)
    12 ounce box of Vanilla Wafer cookies, crushed
    1/2 cup sweet milk, (whole milk)

    Recipe



    Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time. Add half of wafers crushed fine.

    Add coconut, nuts, milk, and balance of wafers.

    Cook at 325 degrees for 1 hour in greased and floured tube pan or until inserted toothpick comes out clean.

    Leave in pan 10 minutes to cool.

    NOTE:This cake needs no frosting.
    YIELD: 10 Servings
