    Bars: Chunky Chocolate Bars

    Recipe Introduction

    "These are similar to a candy bar an uncle used to bring us when I was a child. I loved them."

    List of Ingredients

    1 can Carnation Condensed Milk
    3 (6 oz.) pkgs Nestle Milk Chocolate Chips
    1 teaspoon Real Vanilla Extract
    2 Cups Dried Fruit (Raisins, Diced Dates, Dried Cherries, Cranberries, or Blueberries)
    1 Cup Broken Walnuts, Pecans, Almonds or Peanuts

    Recipe

    Butter a 9 x 9 x 2 cake pan and set aside. Put condensed milk in top of a double boiler over simmering water. Stir in milk chocolate chips until completely melted and well mixed. Stir in vanilla, then stir in dried fruit and nuts and pour into prepared pan and smooth top. Cool about 30 minutes at room temperature and then cut into 1 to 1 1/2 in squares let finish cooling and serve. Store leftovers in a cool place, tightly wrapped. They are very good with one kind of nuts and one dried fruit or with a mixture of several nuts and fruits. You can even use diced dried apples, peaches, apricots, etc.
