    Jim Backus' Chinese Steak

    List of Ingredients




    2 pounds sirloin steak, sliced against the grain
    1 1/2 teaspoon ginger
    2 Tablespoons bead molasses
    3 Tablespoons sherry

    Recipe



    Marinate steak in this from three to five hours.

    Put steak and marinade in pan or wok over high flame and cook to the almost done point of your preference (rare, medium or well-done). Add:

    1 cup bouillon

    1 package frozen artichoke hearts which have been defrosted and drained

    1 can water chestnuts, sliced thinly or diced

    1 Tablespoon cornstarch



    Stir until thick. Add 1 cup frozen peas which have been thawed until just heated through. Serve over rice with soy sauce, if desired.
