    Hazel's Hot Dish: Cookin' with Country Stars by Hazel Smith

    List of Ingredients




    1 cup butter
    1/2 cup cocoa
    4 eggs
    2 cups sugar
    1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
    dash of salt
    1 tsp vanilla
    1 cup chocolate morsels (optional)
    1 cup chopped pecans (optional)

    Recipe



    Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

    Melt butter; dissolve cocoa in butter and set aside. Beat eggs and sugar together until light and fluffy. Beat in salt, flour, and vanilla.

    Add cocoa and butter to flour mixture. At this point, add optional ingredients.

    Bake in greased and floured 9" x 13" metal pan for 30-40 minutes. Bake for 30 minutes for chewy brownies or 40 minutes for cake-like brownies.



    NOTE: Sometimes I add a little extra cocoa. But be sure to add a little extra sugar if you do.
