    List of Ingredients




    2 CUPS SUGAR
    1 1/2 CUPS BUTTER OR MARGARINE, SOFTENED
    1/2 CUP MOLASSES
    2 EGGS
    4 1/2 CUPS FLOUR
    3 TSP. BAKING SODA
    1/2 TSP. SALT
    2 TSP. CINNAMON
    1 TSP. CLOVES
    1 TSP. GINGER
    1/2 TSP. NUTMEG
    SUGAR

    Recipe



    In large bowl, beat sugar, margarine, molasses and eggs until light and fluffy. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup and level off. Stir in flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, cloves, ginger and nutmeg; mix well. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate 1 hour.

    Heat oven to 350F. Shape dough into 1-inch balls; roll in sugar. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 8 to 12 minutes or until set. Cookies will puff up and flatten during baking. Cool 1 minute; remove from cookie sheets.

    YIELD: 120 Cookies
