List of Ingredients
3/4 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup molasses
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon finely chopped, crystallized ginger
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2-1/4 cups flour
1/4 cup sugar
Recipe
Preheat oven to 350ºF.
Mix shortening, sugar, egg, and molasses, until just combined, using an electric mixer. Add ground and crystallized ginger, cinnamon, baking soda, salt, and flour. Mix.
Form dough into 1 inch balls; roll in sugar. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Do not flatten.
Bake for 15 minutes. Remove from baking pan and cool on racks.
YIELD 3-1/2 Dozen Cookies

COOK TIME: 15 minutes
