    1/2 cup margarine

    3/4 cup sugar

    1 egg (or 2 egg whites or egg substitute equivalent to 1 egg)

    1/4 cup dutch process cocoa

    3/4 cup ground nuts

    1 3/4 cups sifted flour

    1/2 teaspoon baking powder

    1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

    1/4 teaspoon cloves

    1 tablespoon evaporated skim milk

    thin confectioners' Glaze

    small multi-colored candies

    Cream the margarine and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and cocoa. Add the nuts.

    Sift together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon and cloves, and combine with the cocoa mixture alternately with the milk, stirring until blended. Shape into a roll about 1 to 1 1/2 inches in diameter, wrap in wax paper and chill overnight.

    Cut roll into thin slices. Bake at 350 degrees about 10 minutes. Cool and frost with the glaze. Sprinkle with candies.

    ---Confectioners' Glaze---

    1/4 cup skim milk

    1 cup confectioners' sugar

    1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
    In a small bowl, stir confectioners' sugar and extract into the milk until mixture is thick enough to spread. Yield: 1 cup
