    3 cups flour
    2 teaspoons baking powder
    ½ teaspoon baking soda
    ½ teaspoon salt
    ¾ cup butter
    1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
    ½ cup sugar
    2 eggs
    1 tablespoon orange zest
    ½ cup sour cream
    1 cup chopped pecans

    Recipe



    Grease baking sheets (or line with parchment). Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

    Cream together butter, sugar and brown sugar. Add eggs, beat well. Stir in sour cream and orange zest. Mix together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt; add to batter. Gradually stir in pecans.

    Drop batter by teaspoonfuls onto prepared cookie sheets. Bake for 10 to 14 minutes, until cookies are brown on bottom. Frost while still warm.

    YIELD: Makes 48 cookies.

    Frosting: Mix together 2 cups powdered sugar, 2 teaspoons orange zest and 2 to 3 tablespoons fresh orange juice.

    Kelley recommends heating the orange juice when making the frosting. "It mixes better that way." She adds: "You can add a whole pecan on top of the cookie if you want to make it pretty. I usually just put about ¼ cup of chopped pecans in the frosting. These freeze very well."
