Sour Cream Raisin Cookies

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, divided
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup softened butter
2 eggs, slightly beaten
2 teaspoons ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup California raisins
Recipe
Reserve 1 cup flour and combine all other ingredients except raisins in large mixer bowl. Beat on medium speed, scraping bowl often, until smooth, 2 to 3 minutes. Stir in remaining flour and raisins by hand, until blended. Cover; refrigerate and chill at least 2 hours.
Preheat oven to 350º F. Drop dough by teaspoonfuls, 2 inches apart, onto greased cookie sheets. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned.
Makes 4-1/2 dozen cookies
