Swedish Ginger Cookies

List of Ingredients
1 cup butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 tablespoons grated orange rind
2 tablespoons dark corn syrup
1 tablespoon water
3 1/4 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground ginger (more to taste)
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves Recipe
Cream butter and sugar until light. Add egg, orange rind, corn syrup and water, and mix well.
Sift together dry ingredients and add to butter mixture. Chill dough thoroughly. Roll out very thin, about 1/8 inch, and cut with cookie cutters.
Bake on ungreased cookie sheets at 350 degrees F for 8 to 10 minutes. Do not overbake, or cookies will burn.
