    Edible Valentine Placecards

    1. Make a 3-inch circle on a piece of paper. Lay a sheet of waxed paper over the circle. This will give you a template for your chocolate base.

    2. Place 1 cup of chocolate chips in a microwave-safe measuring cup or small bowl. Microwave chips uncovered, on high, stirring after one minute and resume microwaving for another 1/2 to 1 minute or until soft. Stir into a smooth paste...chocolate pieces will not seem melted until stirred. Do NOT stir with a wet spoon or spatula!

    3. Transfer chocolate to a small, heavy ziploc bag. Snip off a small corner of the bag. Squeeze and drizzle a design onto the waxed paper, within the circle pattern. Repeat this step for each place setting that you need.

    4. Once chocolate designs have fully hardened, peel away the waxed paper and transfer the the chocolate to a dessert plate. Place a large, clean strawberry, leaves and stem side down (you may have to cut the stem end off to create a flat base). On a work surface, cut a slit halfway through the strawberry with a sharp knife. Insert the place card or valentine in the slit and place the strawberry in the center of the chocolate design.

Option: A "bed" of whipped cream can act as a base between the chocolate and the strawberry.
