Many years ago when my daughter was in the second grade, I got a recipe for "dyeing" macaroni. It is very simple. You need rubbing alcohol and food colors. Make your different colors by putting the food color in some alcohol that is in a plastic ziploc bag, add your macaroni, shake and then put in a pan to dry.


This is a smelly process and should be done before working with the girls because you are working with the alcohol. Use yarn to string them into necklaces, bracelets etc.

Also, use the various shapes that macaroni come in (wheels, elbow etc.).
