Pudding: Caramel Pudding

1 3/4- cups hot milk
1/4-cup sugar
3-tbsp. cornstarch
1/8-tsp. salt
1/4-cup cold milk
1/2-tsp. vanilla
1-tbsp. butter
1/3-caramel syrup
Recipe
Heat milk in a double boiler, stirring constantly.
Mix well: sugar, cornstarch and salt, blend with a little milk to make a thin paste.
Stir the cornstarch paste into the scalded milk.
Continue to stir until there is no taste of raw starch and the mixture has thickened .
Cover and cook for another 5 minutes.
Remove from heat and add vanilla, caramel syrup and butter.
Put in serving dishes, cover with saran wrap so a skin does not form.
Refrigerate.
