    Recipe Introduction

What a great combination! The sweetness of the pears and the tanginess of the cranberries taste so good together in this excellent cobbler.

    List of Ingredients

    - 4 pears - cut in half, peeled, cored
    - 2 tablespoons vanilla extract
    - 1/4 cup brown sugar
    - 2 tablespoons flour
    - 1/4 teaspoon ginger
    - 1/4 teaspoon allspice
    - 1 teaspoon cinnamon
    - 1/2 lemon - juiced, grated
    TOPPING:
    - 1/2 cup unsalted butter - room temperature
    - 1/2 cup brown sugar
    - 1/2 cup flour
    - 1/2 cup oatmeal
    - 1/2 teaspoon salt
    - 2 cups cranberries - fresh, frozen

    Recipe

    Preheat oven to 350° F.

In large mixing bowl, place pears. Sprinkle over the vanilla, 1/2 juiced lemon, grated and peeled ginger, allspice, brown sugar, flour and cinnamon. Toss to coat the pears. Place round side up in buttered, sugared baking dish.

In same bowl, using a fork, mix the butter, brown sugar, flour, salt and oatmeal. Sprinkle cranberries over pears then the oatmeal mixture. May want to top with a few extra cranberries.

Bake until topping is crunchy and browned; approximately 35-40 minutes.

Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

    SERVES 8
