Fruit: Pears with Hot Chocolate Sauce

4 pears
1 cup of sugar
4 thick orange slices
1 tspn. vanilla extract
1/2 cup lombardo sweet marsala wine
3 cups mineral water
4 oz. semi sweet baking chocolate
Recipe
Peel the pears, leaving the stalks. Mix together the sugar, orange slices and vanilla extract in a saucepan. Add the mineral water and bring to a boil. Stir until the sugar dissolves. Add the pears and simmer for 15 minutes. Add the sweet marsala and continue cooking for another 15 minutes. Remove the pears and let cool. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler. Then pour the chocolate over the pears and serve.
