Recipe Introduction
A quick and delicious way to prepare fish with a Southwestern taste.
List of Ingredients
For sweet pepper aioli sauce:
2 red bell peppers, roasted, peeled & seeded
2 cloves of garlic, chopped finely
3 tablespoons of fresh squeezed lime juice
1/2 cup of low-fat mayonnaise
1 pinch of cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon of chili powder
1 teaspoon of honey
2 tablespoons of olive oil
2 tablespoons of freshly ground black pepper
4 6-ounce tuna steaks
1/4 teaspoon of salt (optional)
Recipe
1.Preheat the broiler.
2.Prepare the sweet pepper aioli sauce by combining peppers, garlic, lime juice, mayonnaise, cayenne pepper, chili powder and honey in a food processor and mixing on high speed for 30 seconds or with a hand blender for 1-2 minutes until blended well. Set aside.
3.Pour the olive oil onto a plate. Place the pepper on another plate. Dip the tuna in the oil and then press some pepper onto both sides of each steak. Sprinkle with salt if desired.
4.Place the steaks on a broiler pan and broil, turning once, until cooked to desired degree of doneness, 2-3 minutes on each side for medium-rare. Serve with sweet pepper aioli sauce for dipping on the side - approximately 2 tablespoons per serving.
